Welcome to the official website of San Antonio Jazz Singer and Morning Radio personality, Joe Caruso. Joe started out working in radio. He has hosted award- winning morning shows in great cities like Louisville, Milwaukee, and San Antonio. He also worked in his home town of Chicago, hosting a top-rated afternoon show on WLS-FM (KICKS Country). Joe has been a singer all his life. Though he's had several successful radio parody hits, his professional singing career began in Chicago when he was working at an ad agency. Not lonly did he sing commercial jingles, he also wrote lyrics and composed the music. Joe's appreciation of music began at an early age. Believe it or not, he always favored standard singers like Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, and Mel Torme. Of course, like any kid he also loved pop music. Gino Vannelli, Huey Lewis, and Howard Jones were a few of his favorite singer/songwriters. "I've seen all my heroes perform live, but ask me about the day I performed for Tony Bennett," says Joe. "I couldn't have been more nervous, but somehow I got up the courage to sing his signature song, I Left My Heart in San Francisco, to him." You can read what Tony thought of his performance by clicking on the music link (below). "What a memory. That is the one and only time I've ever performed that song. You did ask to hear this story, didn't you?" Joe is now one of San Antonio's premiere jazz standards singers. "I prefer, classic pop," says Joe. Jazz standards, or classic pop, whatever you choose to call it you've got to hear Joe sing it.
